ABOUT BWRT

BWRT® Research

BWRT® is a modern, neuroscience-based therapy, and more and more research is being carried out to understand why it works so quickly and effectively. What we already know from the growing evidence is clear: BWRT® can create rapid change because it works with the part of the brain that reacts before we’re fully conscious of what’s happening.

Current research and client outcome studies show promising results for issues such as anxiety, trauma, phobias, emotional triggers, confidence, and stress. Many clients report noticeable improvements in just a few sessions — sometimes even after the first one.

BWRT® continues to be explored through clinical projects, practitioner case studies, and collaborations within the Terence Watts Institute. As the research develops, one thing remains consistent: BWRT® is proving to be a fast, gentle, and effective approach for changing the automatic responses that hold people back.

The BWRT Creed

Registered BWRT Practitioners adhere rigidly to this creed and will seek professional guidance from senior BWRT Mentors where they deem it to be advisable or necessary.

The BWRT ethos is that the wellbeing of the client is paramount and therefore the BWRT Practitioner will ensure a constancy of demeanour and diligent application of their skills in the pursuit of that wellbeing.

The BWRT Practitioner knows that nobody can control what they think or how they feel, only their response to such thoughts or feelings, and is therefore non-judgemental. They will apply their skills appropriately and without criticism to relieve distress and foster wellbeing.

Everybody has thoughts and feelings they prefer to keep to themselves and the BWRT Practitioner will not insist they be divulged. On very rare occasions, it is beneficial to explore such thoughts and feelings, but the Practitioner will make every effort to avoid that need.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

What happens in an Introductory Call?

In this call, we explore what you’re struggling with, what you’d like to change, and how quickly you’d like to see results. I’ll explain how BWRT works, answer questions, and recommend the programme that best fits your needs. There’s no pressure to commit — it’s about clarity and fit.

How is BWRT different from traditional talking therapy?

BWRT focuses on the brain’s rapid, automatic responses rather than analysing the past in detail. We work in the “split second” before conscious awareness, which means you don’t have to relive traumatic events for change to occur. Sessions are structured, focused, and usually require fewer appointments than many traditional approaches.

Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail?

No. One of the advantages of BWRT is that you don’t have to go into graphic or lengthy detail. We work with your internal experience and the way your brain has coded the problem, without needing you to verbalise everything.

How quickly will I notice a difference?

Many clients notice shifts very quickly — sometimes after the first session. For others, the change is more gradual but still within a short time frame. It depends on the complexity of the issue, how long it has been present, and how many areas of life it touches.

Is BWRT safe?

Yes. BWRT is a modern, structured therapeutic approach grounded in neuroscience and delivered by trained practitioners working to a professional code of ethics. If at any point BWRT isn’t the right approach for your situation, I’ll discuss alternatives with you.

Can I work with you online?

Yes. BWRT works extremely well online, and many clients prefer the comfort of working from home. Sessions are available via secure video call, as well as face-to-face in Guildford, Surrey (subject to availability).

How do I know which programme to choose?

You don’t have to decide alone. The Introductory Call is specifically designed to assess your needs, discuss your goals, and recommend the programme that will give you the best outcome in the shortest, safest timeframe.

Are you insured and professionally accredited?

Absolutely. I am fully insured and professionally accredited through The Terence Watts Institute, the governing body for BWRT® practitioners worldwide. Your sessions are delivered to the highest clinical standard, with full compliance to GDPR and all professional guidelines.

Your privacy, your wellbeing, and your data are protected with the same level of care you’d expect from any high-end therapeutic service.

You Don’t Have to Stay Where You Are.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, trauma, OCD, emotional triggers, or long-standing identity-level issues, there is a structured way forward — and you don’t have to work it out alone.
